Florentina Alexandru

Piano
Guitar (Acoustic) - Classical/Flamenco
**Bilingual Romanian/Italian**
Florentina Alexandru was born in Pitesti, a very beautiful city in Romania. She started studying piano at the age of five with Paraschiv Oprea, a well recognized conductor, composer and pianist in Romania. He led the orchestra of Folk Romanian Radio, (Romanian Rhapsody). In 1996, Florentina attended the University of Arts ‘George Enescu’, Iasi, Romania for Instrument Interpretation of Classic Guitar and Piano. University of Arts 'George Enescu' is a recognized accredited state institution of higher education in Romania. She was awarded the degree of Licentiate in Music in October 2001. This is the equivalent of the U.S. degree of Masters of Music Education in the United States. In Romania she obtained numerous awards in classic guitar and piano interpretation at the country-level music festivals and participated in television shows. She has been teaching music for over 10 years on piano and classic guitar. “I am happy to say that I have had several students become advanced players of piano and classic guitar interpretation which has led them to study music at the university level. I am passionate about music and the teaching of piano and classic guitar. Nothing is more exciting to me than to be a part of each student's development as they discover their personal best. I have been fortunate to study with remarkable pianists and guitarist musicians who cared enough to pass on a legacy of music excellence and musical expression, and it is my hope to continue this tradition. Believing that each student should show weekly progress, maintain a weekly practice regimen, grow to enjoy the thrill of independent mastery of the piano, guitar, the theory of music, and the historical perspectives of musical style and interpretation takes commitment on the part of student and parents who share my passion and who look forward to attaining the skills fundamental to a lifelong enjoyment of piano and classic guitar performance.”

Florentina Alexandru is currently not instructing any classes.
