Born and raised in Miami, Laura started her career in music at a very young age. At eight years old, she began taking private lessons for piano and guitar at the Kendall Conservatory of Music in Miami, FL.  Eventually, Laura picked up the clarinet and has never looked back since. After picking up the clarinet, she also began to learn saxophone and bass clarinet. Realizing her true passion for music at the age eleven, she began to seriously pursue that route beyond employing it as a hobby. She was top of her class in high school, becoming band captain and holding the position of lead clarinet. Not only did she play at school with several ensembles, she was also part of the Greater Miami Youth Symphony (GMYS) for seven years and worked for them for four years after she graduated from the program. As part of the GMYS she had the opportunity to travel to Ireland in 2014 to play with the Dublin Youth orchestra.

Laura has since graduated from Miami-Dade College (MDC) with her AA in music education, and with her time there played with the MDC wind ensemble where she sat first chair clarinet her last year there and played with the MDC symphony orchestra. With the MDC symphony orchestra she had he privilege to travel to New York City and had the opportunity to play at Carnegie Hall. She also played with Greater Miami Symphony Band (GMSB) for two years playing lead bass clarinet.
